Part of the answer is "it depends".

If you do a lot of short hops, where you might have fouling of the plugs due to a lot of cold operation, SAAB's recommendation is the 7EV.

Otherwise it's the 7ES.

I used to use the 7EVs in my '89 SPG, but about 10 years ago I switched to the 7ES and haven't seen any difference in performance. I change plugs at about the same interval.
