Distributor rebuild confusion-Clarification needed... Posted by nicknick [Email] (#731) [Profile/Gallery] (more from nicknick) on Sat, 16 Mar 2013 07:45:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
To keep it brief, noticed a couple of recent posts on rebuilding the distributor, and they included links to 2 procedures. One (http://www.thesaabsite.com/FAQ--ignition-category--ignition-distributor-rebuild-instructions.html) references using a puller to remove the shutter wheel, etc, and getting at it that way. The other (http://www.900saab.com/dizzy.html) talks about the pin at the drive end, with no mention of the shutter wheel. I have damaged a shutter wheel before, and wish to try and avoid this if possible.
Dizzy type:88-900 turbo typically ending 008 or 010
So, questions:
1)which procedure is actually the one i need to follow? Drive end or shutter wheel end?
2)i have seen several references to some seals that work. Honda was mentioned. Which one seems to have the best availability, and proves to work well. Link to supplier would be nice...
3)The connector on these is obviously an issue-Anyone actually found a source?
Many thanks in advance. Nick
