In searching past posts, there have only been about a half-dozen posts on this, and no solutions.

Anyone run into this and found out what causes it?

Car was running fine in a.m. and passed smog check. Late afternoon, battery was weak (1st time, battery about 4 mo. old) and had to get jump start. 1 mile later, at intersection, car just died. Pushed across, and got another jump start. Car ran fine most of way home (approx 7 miles), but suddenly lost power, bucking & nearly stalling when stepping on gas.

Over at side of freeway, car idled, but was up & down, not consistent 800 rpm like usual. In order to get rest of way home (3/4 mile), had to slip clutch and gently apply gas whole time.

At home, very rich running smell (gas), and no obvious issues in engine compartment. Per old posts, I did check the AMM wiring connections, no issues there when wiggled. Also, car ran the same with AMM disconnected. The AMM hot wire and wire looped between 5 posts seems to be whole.

I haven't checked plug condition or compression yet, but that will be next.

Anyone have any practical experience with this issue? Or found a solution in some book? Or someone with an ISAT or TECH II close ti middle California they'd let me use?

I'm also calling my old mechanic tomorrow to see if he can spread some joy in my life. I'm willing to give all you guys a chance though!

It's a 1990T 5speed 3door, let me know what you know! Please@@
