Just make sure the transmission you put the primaries in has been built before '89. In '89, they lowered the rear end ratio, giving you lower gears (9:33 pre-'89 vs. 9:35 post '89). I have #8 primaries in an earlier box (high rear end ratio), giving me the highest gears possible in a c900. Even in my N/A 2.0L, it's fine. I can even parallel park uphill (15% grade is the steepest I've tried) with 195/65 R15 tires, no worries. Don't let the naysayers scare you. At 70, I am doing about 2500rpm. The gear ratios are about the same as those of a 9000 CSE turbo, maybe even a hair lower.
DO replace chains and top bearing of primary set! You don't know where it's been, and you can't really tell the difference between a good one and a bad one just by looking at it. Cheap replacement top bearing is the SKF BR9, available at any NAPA store. You don't need a press, just tap it in and out with a drift and a light touch.
Cheers!
