Sounds like an intake rubber boot connection popped off or blew out somehow. I had the outlet to my turbo boot pop off and I think the O2 sensor detected a lean condition, so the fuel injection ECU tried to compensate by adding more fuel, therefore causing a rich condition. Tell us what you find.
