from my son's old dearly departed 87T, which migrated into his 89 Base, and now continues life in an 81 Volvo LH2.2 conversion. Got it?
The turbo hotside 90* which turns to meet the downpipe is where it lives. I could only get it to turn about 2~3 turns and it would lock up. I soaked it well a couple days with KROIL type penetrant oil. Finally muscled it out with the proper inch box wrench. It still resisted, but finally yielded.
We transferred into the 81 volvo NA downpipe, and it screwed right in.
Good luck!
