Saab parts would be the best source for the original connectors that Saab used. I've never seen the ones with the spring release anyplace else.
I've bought lots of terminals from Saab in years gone by. Just know that Saab often charges for 1 what a package of 10 or 20 would go for anyplace else...
Clarification on terms:
A "Spade" terminal is NOT what Saab uses. A "Spade" terminal is "U" shaped, often with turned up tips on the "U" and is designed to go around a screw or post. Also, there is only one kind, there is no male/female design. Spade terminals are rather old, being a variation of a "Ring" terminal. The difference being with a Ring terminal, the screw,or the nut on the post must come off completely to remove the terminal, where a spade terminal only requires loosening of the fastener.
The terminals often seen in Saabs are 1/4" quick disconnects, often referred to as "blade" or "Faston" connectors from one brand name for them. Of course, there are male and female parts.
