just because the odds are the rebuild will fail sooner than a new version.
I had a similar problem earlier this spring but I wasn't losing any fluid with my newly installed slave (at least I couldn't find any signs of leaking or a drop in the reservoir level).
I was struggling to diagnose the problem after a new clutch install and I kept dismissing the slave as a possibility because it wasn't losing fluid. And it was new.
4+ weeks of drive-testing, bleeding, dismantling (to install the spring bellows that ultimately did not produce a lasting fix), and just letting the car sit while I analyzed and schemed.
Finally replaced the new slave with the old slave and the lasting fix arrived.
I was using a Saab OEM new slave. I learned that "new" doesn't guarantee "operational."
I'd skip the bellows if you're wondering, the dust protection benefit seems minimal. That's just my opinion.
Good luck.
