You should be able to get something nice in your price range and the SPG is a good model to buy. Buy the newest, lowest mileage car you can. They were continually improved in both looks and performance so the later ones are generally the best. They didn't have a lot of color choice, so just go with one you like. There are some who think Monte Carlo yellow is worth extra, I'm not one of them. You should understand that cars can rarely be considered an a true investment. Saab 900's do have the potential to appreciate (but they aren't like a '67 427 Vette, etc. and never will be) but it may not necessarily be all that much when you factor in inflation, insurance, maintenance and other costs of ownership. And there is a distinction between true collector cars and everything else. It true collector car is a completely original, one owner, 10,000 mile, like new car with full documentation. If you get one don't drive it. Everything else is a driver to varying degrees. A Saab 900 is an excellent car to buy and enjoy, and if it gains some value then consider it a bonus. If you're expecting anything more that that you'll likely be disappopinted
