I have a 92 vert apart and noticed that where the central lock relay is, there is a plug that apparently jumps the wiring that is connected to the door lock switch on the rear center console.
So, since there isn't a relay under the dash attached to the heater duct outlet, I'm guessing that Aarong is correct -- the key FOB is the trigger to the driver's door. I don't have the key FOB that I can find from the PO, so not sure if that is the case or not.
I appreciate you posting the original question on this as I was wondering what on earth the holder with the jumper wires was for. Then it dawned on me that there was a switch at the rear of the center console -- this car has only been apart for 4 years, so my memory on what it was like when I first got it is rather weak......
