whatever it is - a running pumps gives the buzzing and the injectors give the ticking feel - only a fuel pressure gauge on the injector rail will tell you whether your fuel pump is going south or not.
FPR and the air line which drives it (no, it isn't a vacuum line but the air, or better pneumatic, line actually since it carries not only vacuum, but also the atmospheric pressure - and even boost on turbo-variants - too) are also worth checking. Use your dark force (pressure gauges + water spray sprayer on the vacuum-air-pneumatic line).
