Clutch will self bleed once you get pedal pressure (witch you have) Your master cyl piston might be stuck 1/2 way in it's bore due to gunk or a broken internal return spring,(getting only 1/2 half a gulp of brake fluid)(piston doesn't return all the way back.) I suspect this but you can check the clutch disc for wear easily by popping the pedal out and in while under full throttle. If you get rubber or a solid jerk the disc is fine. If the engine slowly loses rpm the disc is slipping. Check hydraulic hose for ballooning in the rubber.
