I differ a bit from every one else. You say this happens after a period of idling. This indicates the problem could be heat engine heat related. the In theory, it does not matter if it is a leaky injector or a bad carb- but obviously this is injected. Once the key is off and the plugs are not firing the engine should die, there is still enough heat in one or more cylinders to cause combustion and this is at least one of the issues, unless it is a faulty ignition switch and you truly have an injector firing and spark at plugs.
I would think it more likely that you have a leaking injector and you have have heat issues, either do to carbon build up on pistons or valaves, coolant system issues, incorrect timing or all of these combined with some leaking fuel in in to a cylinder.
A simple test. get an old spark plug, run a wire from it to ground. Pull a plug wire and fit to the grounded the plug as the car is turned off. Use shielded pliers though.... if you have spark after the key is turned off, you have an ignition switch issue. If not you have a heat issue and fuel system issue.
