Cmyle is right on when he says check that darn rotor. Got stranded twice that way. Wrote a complete story about the second time if you ever get bored. More an exercise in creative writing. Mercedez a diesel? If not same fuel sources? You might have fuel , but it could be water contaminated or even icy. Did you check the rubber connectors from the air filter to air metering mass and intake manifold I had on of those pop off and gave a issue. If engine flexes to right because of weak motor mounts it can pull loose but still look attached. A rip will create the same issue. Let us know what you find, its always a good way to be prepared when a similar issue happens.
