Welcome to the wonderful world of SAAB restoration! These cars are great to work on and simple and well thought out. Do you have the 900 Bentley workshop Manual? It explains a lot of useful procedures that will keep the car rolling for a long, long time.
There should be a plastic... I call it a doughnut between the distributor housing and the cap. It's round and has a little tab on one part of it so it fits into the slot cut on the housing. You may be getting oil because its worn, not sitting right or not there. There is also a gasket on the shaft the distributor housing sits on, which goes into the top of the head. This can shrink and loose its oil retaining ability with time and heat. Or the head cover gasket is shot and leaking oil in every direction, including the distributor.
I take it the headgasket is leaking down the side of the transmission? Hows the compression?
I would guess the lack of power may be due to 300k miles on the engine and I would guess on either the original turbo unit or the replacement. The thing gets really hot from daily use and its typical it doesn't work as well as it has after so many miles. Cracks form in the housing, the bearings aren't as nimble, gaskets dry up, etc. They can be rebuilt, but sometimes its best to get a new unit or a really nice used turbo. To gauge the life of the turbo itself, take off the exhaust piping and the intake piping. Put a finger on the end of the impellers and see how much wiggle the ends have, if any at all. Oil in the intake side also indicates a oil seal that may be going bad, as well as blue smoke.
I have no idea about a sunroof!
