I agree with CBS. Check with CMyles - he can likely at least provide advice if not rebuild it for you.
$989 sounds exorbitant for a c900 engine. Those non-turbo 2.0L engines last forever so they are plentiful. Lots of c900's go to the crusher with perfectly good engines. Beyond that, a leaking engine is no big deal. Where's the leak? How many miles? Just do a go over of the engine before reinstalling the tranny. It will never be easier to do than now! Imho the only reason to change the engine is because you want to put in a full pressure turbo... and then you are going to want a donor car and I would still go over the engine before doing the swap.
