Fog lights are a nice ammenity if you need them.... but they are not mission critical on a twenty nine year old car. Sort of like heated seats and the up-shift light. I feel your pain as my 1986 spg has deteriorating wiring and the passenger fog light is in-op.
Back to your question. Check to see if you are getting power to the light. Those cheap probe testers work. Make sure you have a good ground and lamp. If your not getting power and the wire is bad somewhere, identify the color code on the wire and see if you are sending out power from the fuse box when the switch is on. From that point it's a matter of locating where the wire is bad or leaving as is.
