Shifter housing, top metal plate Posted by Paul K [Email] (#2071) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Paul K) on Sat, 21 Feb 2015 14:12:36 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The '93 900 I bought had the ignition switch and reverse lockout bypassed to a generic ignition switch. The old housing was missing the lock cylinder, a gear was broken, missing the top metal plate and ignition switch. I bought a automatic shifter housing (cheaper) to get the ignition switch, gears, lock cylinder.
I've moved the various parts around and put in a new lock cylinder to complete the shifter housing but I'm not sure about the top metal plate that is held down with 3 bolts (that is covering all the gears). The one from the automatic has a U-shaped metal bracket held in place by 3 rivets that blocks something when I assembled the housing. Did the manual not have this piece or is something bent? I can probably remove this piece but wanted to check in with the community to figure it out.
Much appreciated!
