Flush out system, install new drier and expansion valve Posted by JerseySaab [Email] (#666) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JerseySaab) on Tue, 10 Mar 2015 09:38:36 In Reply to: Recharged AC w/o doing vacuum, problems now (long), Sri, Mon, 9 Mar 2015 18:20:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
At this point you will probably want to remove the expansion valve and drier, then flush all the gunk out of the system. It sounds like you may actually have too much oil. Once everything is cleaned up and a fresh drier and expansion valve installed you can put in the correct amount of oil, vacuum the system, and charge it up with ES.
You probably haven't ruined anything but you'll want to get to a starting point where you know that you have a clean system. There are videos on youtube showing how to flush auto AC systems. You can purchase a flushing kit online at Amazon. (Note that you do NOT flush the compressor, just physically dump out as much of the old oil as possible.)
If you're going to use EnviroSafe or similar alternative refrigerant you are committing to servicing the AC system yourself. Very few if any commercial shops will be willing to touch it.
