Maybe take it to a specialist Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Mon, 16 Mar 2015 10:58:07 In Reply to: Re: Wheel alignment - gotchas for service tech?, Justin VanAbrahams [Profile/Gallery] , Mon, 16 Mar 2015 09:48:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Unless you lowered the spring height, the camber and caster shouldn't change that much during the life of the car - toe-in is a different story and is easy to do - I have usually set it myself when replacing tie rod ends (hint: do one side at a time).
I have also had a few cars that have required some specialized alignment work, i.e. an Alfa Spider and a couple of Audis with Quattro and independent rear suspensions (4-wheel alignment required after replacing bushings in the rear). Luckily I found a local shop in north suburban Chicago that does ONLY alignment work, they have the facilities to make things right, even after other shops have messed things up. I doubt that your SAAB repair shop has this type of equipment.
