I've never considered leaving the axle nuts on, and it could disintegrate my DNA if I did that. But, it's time for that anyway. And, I like the cardboard support idea that Notnoel had so as to keep the tripod balls clean as a hot coating of grease.
Now I know what to do after I leave out the oil pickup tube and have to take out the engine for the third time.
