there are 2 bad spots for the brake lines.
One is where they pass the B pillar near the drivers seat. That is where they failed for my winter beater (while rocking the car out of a very deep snowbank I had parked in - ha!).
The other is in the drivers footwell at the very front. Both my cars exhibit signs of having had leaks there (lines were replaced but the paint obviously was not).
Anyone with a nice c900 should replace the brake lines proactively and also check for moisture, not just under the carpet, but even more so, under the rubber/foam acoustic damping layer. There is no mechanism to dry that out and it can stay wet for months or years if it ever gets wet!! Anyone who understands building science will understand why: the foam is sandwiched between 2 vapour barriers (rubber and metal), and there is no airflow through this sandwich. I pulled soaking wet acoustic damping out of our winter beater after it had been parked in a garage and not driven for 3 months over the summer!
