need both front axles - which best of worst to buy?

1989 900s 16v.
Both CV boots have been ripped at least a couple of months.
In town driving, but dusty and wet here (alternating this odd summer!).
Some noise in tight backup turns.
I've done this job before (with professional mechanic friend) but now have no easy shop access so need to have shop do it.
I live in Fairbanks Alaska and know of only one shop I trust to do the job (however easy!); getting the part seems easier (and cheaper) for me than shop because their regular supplier has contradictory specs. info on the description!
I have to mail order the axles myself so that's an added hassle (you wouldn't believe unless you lived here), incl. any 'core' return.
I'm surprised to see that there doesn't seem to be much in the way of trusted or otherwise 'good' axles available ...
So can anybody suggest which is the best option on brand/supplier?
I've had good luck with FCP Groton/Europ in past, but they're out of one side.
Guess I've been out of it for a while and dismayed I may have no other option than to use chinese crap on my European motorcar (had BMW, Audi, etc. in interim between this 900 and last Saab, so didn't have to replace axles since nothing else seems to have the 'constantly ripping boots' of my past and present Saabs!)
Any easy answer, or is russian roulette the only option here?
Thanks,
/robert in Alaska
