So, as I mentioned some time back, one of the previous owners bypassed the heater control valve in the engine compartment. The assumption being that it was leaking. So, rather than test that out and get a bunch of coolant on my carpets I bought a new ProParts unit from eeuroparts.com.
Finally got around to installing it today. What a hassle! the second time around I finally got it to seal and now have the following questions:
1. there seems to be a small pool of coolant where the valve mechanism enters the valve body (see picture). Needless to say this makes me a tad nervous. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it actually leaks or if some coolant just slipped by the plunger and now it will be fine...(hey we can always hope for the best right).
2. Now there is glorious heat coming out of the vents. Well, not all the vents. the center dash vent is blowing cold air while the side vents, floor vents, and defroster vents all blow hot air. What's up with that?
