Well, it's running again! Here's where I went trying to get it to start, based on the assumption it was an air inlet issue; Swapped out MAF, no change. Swapped out IAC, no change. Swapped out FPR, no change. Swapped out ECU, no change. Go for the basics. Pull the plugs to see what they look like....gas soaked and fouled. Carb cleaner them, compressed air them, reinstall. Presto, it runs again. Listen for air/vacumn leaks. Vac advance, and another line leaking. Replace them. Let idle. Seems fine. One minute in, and idle starts going up, then wandering. CEL goes on. I shut car off. Replace IAC with known-to-be-good replacement. Let idle. Five minutes idling and no wandering. Summary:(20-20 hindsight now) On Sunday, original IAC buys the farm. Pops questionable vac line off of vacumn advance on dizzy. Car runs rich during highway driving, unbeknownst to me at the time. Come off highway. Sit at light at 2500RPM. Pull in pkg lot and shut it off. Plugs fouled. After much attempts, car starts and I drive it home, stumbling all the way with my now wonky plugs and gimpy IAC. I miraculously get home, (because it's a SAAB and they love me). Plugs completely fouled, no start once home. I should state that I'm a heavy-collision autobody tech. 40 years at it, and I'm pretty good at what I do. That being said, I'm a shade tree mechanic at best. 20 years of driving 900s, and this bulletin board have been my teachers. Again, through perseverance, another SAAB returns to traffic! Gotta love these cars, and "Our people". Thanks again everybody! Cheers, Bob
