Hi,
I have an oddball problem I hope you can help steer me in the right direction.
My wife's car is a 91 Saab 900 N/A with a 5 speed transmission.
The car has 107K miles with a recently replaced, within 25K miles, clutch and clutch hydraulics.
The issue is as follows:
1. With the engine running and subsequently placed in gear, when letting of the clutch, the car sometimes makes a single banging noise with a shudder, and then will proceed normally.
Past that, the following relevant information:
1. The car has been driving normally with no noise, whining or otherwise. Further, there has been no undue vibration at speed.
2. With the car on the ground on an incline and the engine off, if it is placed in either forward or reverse direction, the car will correctly not move.
3. However, with the front wheels off the ground, and the car in either forward or reverse gear, the wheels will spin in both directions as if it is in neutral.
4. The transmission oil level is full.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Robert
