Wastegate Actuator Rod to Valve Fitment Posted by Matt Grimes [Email] (#2198) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Matt Grimes) on Sat, 4 May 2019 20:26:48 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I was looking at the wastegate actuator rod and the valve configuration. Since I am swapping in the turbo from my parts car I thought I would measure the distance from the base of the actuator to the hole at the end of the rod. Turns out they were different. So, observing that the little arm on the valve has roughly 90 deg of motion I was wondering how this works.
Should the hole in the actuator rod line up with the pin on the valve? With the engine not running that is. I had to pull the rod out maybe a 1/4" to get it to fit on the pin. I realize from reading that the adjustment here is how you set your base boost but I was wondering if there was a "starting point".
I'm still very much in learn mode on turbochargers.Any advice would be appreciated.
