A common cause of this symptom is a failed fuel pressure regulator (at the back of the fuel rail) passing gasoline through the vacuum diaphragm into the throttle housing. With this extra fuel in the intake the engine will start quickly. When the fuel evaporates over time it will increase the time to re-pressurize the rail, causing extended crank time.
