Well, after pulling the cover over it two months ago and getting on with other things in life that required my attention, I finally got around to having a lifetime friend come over who just happens to be a guy who owns his own garage and has been a mechanic his whole working life. He's not a SAAB guy at all though, but he said he'd get it started. Within a half hour of his arrival, he had it running. He assessed spark at coil. Had it. He assessed spark at plugs; Had it. Checked fuel pressure and injector pulse; Had it. Checked all grounds; Had them. The culprit? Firing order off. All wires were advanced one position on the dizzy cap. I never caught it. He had me turn the car over and as it did, he said he could hear two cylinders fighting themselves....which led him to think, "timing is off". He checked plug wires on the cap, and sure enough, that was the issue. Sorted that, and it started right up. Once running, it started to stumble badly though. He assessed it as perhaps a bad temp sensor. I showed him where it was, he pulled the connector, I had a spare, plugged that one in and....now she purrs like a kitten again! I felt like a real bonehead, to which he told me , "Hey, you put a motor, tranny, clutch, steering rack, all suspension, and new brakes and axles in this car, and that was your ONLY problem?" "You did great!" I'll take it! It runs again, all is right in the world. Cheers, Bob
