I have never seen any Saab 900 imported into the US to use carburetors (this is only my first-person recollection). All 900s that I've seen were K- or LH Jetronic (1978-1994).
The last Saab 99 year to use carburetors (that I've ever seen in the US) was 1973. Everything after that was the L-Jetronic (at least through 1974). I think starting in 1975 or 76, K-Jetronic was the fuel system for the US. Maybe others have different experience but this is my recollection.
And after the Saab 99, there was the Saab 90 which did use carburetors through its relatively short production-years span. But 90s were never sold in the US.
It's interesting to poke around websites outside the US to see kits available for carburetor-application.
I'm pasting one in this message (hopefully).
It seems like rigging up carburetors will be a highly-custom and specialized pursuit. A solid fuel-injection system for your year seems eminently easier to assemble and install.
