I am in the middle of deciding to discontinue that project for now... I've been having some other thoughts. The new idea is to make a killer NA car. I know, hold the laughter. I am planning on having a new head built up using Swedish Dynamics NA cams, then having it and in the intake manifold sent to Extrude Hone. I'm going to see if there is a way to bump up the compression to 10.25 or 10.50:1 while the head is off. I'm gonna pick up an MSS header, have it Jet-coated, and plug it into my 2.5" exhaust. I'm currently waiting for feedback from Vince@Threshold about his new aluminum flywheel, and perhaps go that route - otherwise I'll use the machined/lightened stock flywheel I have the garage. Once all that is back together, I'm going to see about a good aftermarket ignition.
I *think* 150-160hp should be attainable in this configuration. If I can hit that, I'll be happy... If it works, I'll save the LPT project for my 5-door - since I will ultimately need a 16v engine in it, I'm thinking maybe an LPT 2.1l running compression in the high 9s (either with a thicker head gasket or new pistons.
Thanks for the comments on the site... It's on hold (again) but I'll get back to it soon...
