I got the old ABS ECU reinstalled into the car and they took the new one back - No charge (except for a $40 labor charge - $20 to put it in and $20 to take it out.) It's still a rip off in my opinion. To top it off, the dealer never even mention the possibility of the brake hoses being bad. What you said makes perfect sense.
I still have the problem, so I purchased a new set of aftermarket brake hoses for $70. I am going to replace all five of the hoses myself and see what happens. No more dealer hosings! If that doesn't work, I will try a used ABS MCU since this item is not available aftermarket. Goldwing used SAAB parts warehouse in Hastings, NY has one for $800. That's better than $1400, plus labor, any day and it will prove if the ABS MCU is the culprit. Do you know of a cheaper source for used SAAB parts or where I can get an aftermarket ABS MCU?
I really don't want to part with my 900 Turbo Convertible if I don't have too, but the problem is too dangerous to live with.
Thanks for the help!
