I sympathize with you. A 7 year old car with only 57K miles on it. Sounds nice, but unfortunately perhaps the former owner didn't drive it enough to have had the opportunity to "share" some of the repairs with you. My car is 7 years old now ('95), 111K miles, and I have had most of the repairs you mentioned done, plus several others. The only difference is that they have been spread out over a few more years, so the "investment" doesn't seem quite as bad. Also, a few of mine were covered under warranty. I never actually added up the total cost....

Some of the repairs you mentioned are maintenance; brakes, mufflers, ball joints, etc. They wear out no matter what (I'm on my fourth center muffler, but they come with a lifetime warranty). You have to figure when you reach higher mileage that things are going to need to be replaced. (I also had to be towed with a dead fuel pump, cost almost $700 for the tow and the repair).

I feel for what you are going through. But think about how much a new car payment would be, and add the depreciation to that.... hopefully you will have some trouble free time coming your way!
