I just finished installing a '94 engine into a '92. I had to do a bit
of splicing/rewiring because I installed a '98 engine in the '92
a few years ago. Along with the engine, I also installed a '94
instrument panel. All the indicators, and gauges work fine
except for one thing - the 'TCS CRL' indicator is lit. This is one
circuit that doesn't seem to vary from year to year. There's a
14 pin connector on the right hand side of the instrument panel
and the TCS CRL indicator is wired on the 12th pin. There are
two wires at this pin - violet-white and a blue one. Now, there
are a lot of circuits that use blue wires on the 9000, and not that
many that use violet-white. And I've noticed that there are a lot of
circuits that go to ground that are green-white. Anyway, my question
concerns blue wires. This particular blue wire originates at the
ABS box on the firewall (it runs through a 10-pin connector then to
the dash). The violet-purple wire comes from the ETS box. Here's
what I can't figure out: I don't have TCS nor an ETS box. I don't
think the violet-white wire is 'at fault'. Having spliced about 50-60
wires to do this 'project', it's possible that I might have made a
mistake on one of the blue wires - the thing is I didn't touch this
particular blue wire from the ABS box but if the other blue wires
are some how interrelated, then maybe that's why this light is
coming one. This one has me perplexed - I'd like to resolve it
as I'm planning on selling this vehicle pretty soon.
