After reading quite a bit of info on these boards, I tried bleeding my clutch with a homemade kit similar to the one at http://www.apexcone.com/Bleeder/bleeder.html. First of all, I bought the wrong GM master cylinder cap- the one that looks like a gear. If you are going to do this job, DON'T buy Help Products #42042! (Which should have been obvious to me from the photos at the previous site). This cap does not have the proper threads to seal. So then I used my OEM cap, but I still couldn't get my brass nipple/coupler assembly to hold enough pressure, even with rubber washers. I ended up with as much fluid on the ground as in the system! I probably got a pint or less to come out of the slave bleeder valve. It seemed to take quite a bit of pumping on my garden sprayer "reservoir" to get fluid to come out the slave bleeder valve- I was worried about using too much pressure.
I suppose I will have to order the Motive bleeder now... PHUCK!
There goes the weekend and my pride.
