I had a similar problem this summer. My high beams would work intermittently. After reading some posts here on the board here is what I figured out were things possibly wrong:
1. It could be the headlight relay. As you will read in other posts, this is a frequent problem, the solder joints apparently degarde and come loose over time. I was lucky and slapped the relay a couple of times across my hand and it fixed the problem so far. Others have cut it open and re-soldered the joints. But you can always pick up a used one or buy a new one. It all depends on money and what you feel comfortable doing.
2. Also some posts here suggest that the contact points in the stalk have gone bad. That could also be a possiblity. I think you can also find some info on that.
3. There are also other people that have had wiring problems, but those cases seem fairly rare compared to the first two. But you caould always check out, before you start replacing parts.
Do a search here on the message for high beams. You will find lots of good info.
