...on the exterior, with some minor cosmetic/functional changes, and didn't know the '93 had the older "Aero" wheels, as Zeke pointed out. I had a '91 with Aero wheels and now a '95 with Super Aeros, but can't say I have a preference one way or the other. Perhaps if they were side by side I would have a preference.
The interior has more improvements as the model years progressed. I personally like the tasteful wood-dash and HK 10-speaker stereo standard on '95 and later Aeros and CSE's. The '97 had some useful front storage compartments (console side and front of seats) that would certainly be helpful in the absence of a glove box. All passenger-airbag-equipped 9K's had no glove box. See link below for more info on exact changes made.
The '94 and later cars had engine and manaul-transaxle modifications that reportedly make them more robust and reliable. I think I've seen fewer complaints of MT maladies for these later units on TSN and elsewhere, though older mechanicals will fail more often, so it's hard to say for sure. If I was buying another 9K Aero I'd go with a '95 or later based on Karl's checklist.
Also important is the avoidance of TCS. The '93 had it standard, '94-'95 was optional, and '96 and later mercifully had no TCS. If it's installed on '94 and '95 models there should be a "TCS" switch on the dashboard for switching it off when desired. This is not a fix in itself, as if it fails the switch is no consolation. The '93's had no switch, but you can be assured that any of this model year are TCS-equipped.
