Thanks, zeke. Hadn't thought of leaving transmission attached but suppose that would be easier. Old 96 transmission is solid - engine had problems mentioned. Doing the whole thing together also solves any potential ECU mating problems. Was trying to figure how to save some $$$ too: however, think simple is best - even if it costs a little more, initially. As I think you suggest - it may even be less costly. Guess it is a no-brainer.
It was a very nice 98CSE, and the engine was/is strong. Thanks for the advice.
