As George has said, you've remove the method the ECU uses to limit boost. You now have free reign to overboost the engine. Here's the downsides-
Overboosting creates higher cylinder pressures than designed for. This will (not can, will) blow the head gasket.
The ability to cut back boost if the engine knocks is disabled. The only way knock can be inhibited is with the limited capability of the DI. Knockin under boost is interesting - you can very quickly put a hole in the piston.
More power is more heat. The cooling system was designed to remove heat at a certain rate. Higher power produces more heat quicker. Parts will get hotter than they were designed for.
Of course, all that extra power is putting extra strain on the pistons, rods, camshafts, bearings, and transmission. Much more power than they were designed for.
Downside? Potential for catastrophic failure from a holed piston, snapped tranny or axle, blown head gasket. Definate loss of drivetrain life due to increased heat, wear, and stress.
This isn't buring the candle at both ends; this is playing a blowtorch down it.
However, in a good Libertarian view, this is your car, and yours to enjoy as you will. However, the fine engineers at Saab limited the boost for good reason. Do not expect to get anywhere near the longevity or reliablity at elevated boost levels.
