Fan Blower Controller 'broke' again

Hi All,
I have a 1995 9000cs - About two months ago, I replaced the fan controller (main cabin fan) with a new unit based on the search I did on this board. Leading up to the replacement, I was experiencing the inability to control the fan speed, it was on high speed all the time in 'Auto' 'Econ' or 'Off' positions. The new unit solved the problem (new unit from saab dealer $130). Yesterday, it 'broke' again, (runs on high speed). I was careful installing it when I replaced it, it ran for two months etc, and I dont have any other apparent issues/symptoms with the system leading up to it breaking again. Are there any ideas why is went again ? This time around, Ill look to replace the transistor on the unit, but would love to know that I wont have to do it again. As it ran for a while, I would not suspect a faulty unit from saab... Any advice is appreciated .. Lu? anybody ?
Thanks in advance
John
