No really, there's nothing you have to buy, assuming you have the basic tools to remove the centre console, a 10mm (or 13mm? I can't remember) socket or spanner, some longer bolts, some washers, some and some will to get your knuckles bruised :)

Probably the shift is not quicker, so don't expect to improve your 1/4mile times for example, but the feel is much better and you can change just moving the fingers, if now you only need the wrist. I did it in my car only because I like it, not because I think it's quicker.
Also be aware that of course the shifter becomes a bit (really not much) stiffer to move, and the gears to engage. It's a simple concept: the shifter is a lever, you choose between travel and force. There's no free meals :-)
