.... headlight relay, which is the square orange one in the relay compartment nearest the front of the engine.... then you should attempt to open the AC relay and reflow all the contacts inside using a soldering iron.
It's the same fix for the intermittent high-beam problems commonly caused by broken solder joints in the headlight relay, hopefully it applies here as well.
I did this once even though I had no soldering experience, so it's not hard.
Noticed nobody else seemed to be jumping in here, so I hope this is appropriate for the type of relay you're talking about. Thanks again by the way ;-) -AMG
