According to Ari, the ECU receives a signal from the gear selector other than Park or Neutral. If that's the case, then does this mean the ECU reads Pin 14 whenever the shifter is moved? That would mean the fuse would need to stay out at all times.
According to Rob (from a past post), the ECU receives a signal at power-up, telling it what type of transmission is in use. If that's the case, then the fuse needs to be out upon start-up, but then could be re-installed since the path has already been chosen by the ECU.
It seems Pin 14 would need to be monkey'ed with as opposed to Fuse 9 since it's not completely understood how and when the ECU receives its information.
