Sounds like the thermostat isn't opening properly.
Is the radiator hot? If not the thermoswitch will not turn on the fan. It may be that the temp guage is happy in this position. They are not famed for their accuracy, but it is likely you are running too hot. The heater core is providing all the engine cooling, which may be enough in cold weather, but when it warms up you can say goodbye to your head gasket and maybe your engine.
As far as the ACC goes run the self test to see what comes up.
