Everything looks perfect under the valve cover; all 4 lifters have <<.0015 clearance (my thinnest feeler gauge) and all 4 rotate and move freely and pop right back to the cam. When a valve burns under these conditions, does the seat usually survive or is this going to be really expensive? Assuming all the others are OK, can you just replace the valve and seat it with valve grind compound? In the shop manual, the picture looks like the seats are replaceable, but it only talks about re-cutting them.
