today because I carry a spare DIC. We were in our 95 9000CSE going South from Savannah on I95 in stop and go traffic. Near Exit 58 while in the middle lane the car immediately started running roughly. We coasted across the left lane as the traffic moving at 10-15mph let me over. Got the car parked and it would turn over but not start. I opened the hood and smelled the tell tale burned resisitor smell. After calming down I got the spare out of the trunk and installed it. The car started right away. The spare was the original (black) DIC out of my 99 9-5. It had 110,000 miles on it when it became the spare during a preventive maintenance swap. My 9000CSE has 88,500 miles on it and was maintained very well by previous owner. I replaced the plugs about three weeks ago with NGK BCPR7ES-11's. So since the outside temp was in the 50's and correct new plugs were used, was it just age that did it in? After all it was at least 11 years old. Also, can I leave the black DIC in or must I get a red one? Thanks,
Ian
