I finally solved the issue of the intermittent cruise control in my '92 9000s. I determined it was the ECU causing the problem. The cruise control #41 08 650 ecu my car came with was DOA. I got another #41 08 650 ECU to swap it out with. With this ECU the cruise would work only when the interior of the car was really warm. If it was cool it wouldn't work. I received some information from someone in Finland on how to make an adapter plug to use the older cruise ecu's (#95 26 757 or #85 87 016) in a 9000 that uses #41 08 650. Over the weekend I made the adapter plug and tested it out. It worked, and my cruise now functions as it should at any temperature, using one of the older #95 26 757 ecu's. Also tested the #85 87 016 ecu with the same result. Here's a quick rundown of the pin connections needed to be made to make it work - just connect the pins as described below.

#9526757 & 8587016 ecu the car (ie. pin number of the Saab #4108650)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
1 (brown) -> 10 (red) 12 V, if ignition
2 (red-white) -> 3 (red-white) SET => 12 V
3 (black) -> 5 (red-white) break & clutch pedal
4 (grey) -> 7 (grey) vacuum pump
5 (blue) -> 11 (blue) speed signal
6 (yellow) -> 4 (yellow) RESUME => 12 v
7 (orange) -> 6 (orange) vacuum pump
8 (black) -> 8 (black) ground
9 (red) -> 1 (red) & 9 (white) 12 V, if the cruise is on

If anyone would like to have the HOW TO info just let me know and I will get it to you ASAP.
