i think 96 is a better year,, it does not have TCS (big bonus) and in the years leading up to 1996 alot of "small" refinements were made to make it quiter, and more solid,, 1n 1996 OBD2 was introduced,, which to me is a love/hate relationship,, when something like a censer goes, it will trip the CEL light alot easyer than earlyer (OBD1)models,, however the codes will tell you alot more about why the CEL light is on, and how to remady it.
