Man the N/A is so insanely slow and boring. The turbo is just a whole different car and commands so much more resale (it will always be attractive to young boy-racers as long as it runs) when marketed properly.
Coincidentally my N/A cars suffered far more problems than my turbo cars; I'd like to attribute it to the fact that A) I drive hard B) turbos tend to be owned more frequently by auto enthusiasts. Even my current car, which was obviously street raced hard on city streets by a careless owner, has tons of new parts because the extra power seems to create an environment in which failing-yet-still-functioning parts aren't allowed to languish, forcing even a neglectful owner to replace them...my N/A cars (1990 2.0S and 1994 2.3CSE) both required a huge initial investment in parts as the accumulated problems all seem to come to a head within a short time. This is just a theory, but when is justifying more power ever a bad thing?
I also always achieved better gas mileage in my turbos as I wouldn't have to go WOT every time I wanted to pass a car or get on the freeway.
By the way, avoid the 1990 2.0L non turbo. I remember not being able to get an engine mount for it for 2 months because I believe the front one was unique to 1990, which was a switchover year.
