Pressure test for leaks Posted by Porschephile951 [Email] (#2169) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Porschephile951) on Fri, 1 Feb 2008 02:24:16 In Reply to: Interesting >, Bill Davies, Thu, 31 Jan 2008 14:21:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Fab up a piece of tube to seal an air compressor onto the system. Just hold open the throttle plate whilst pressurizing the system. I am very sensitive to lag--I'll notice a degredation in throttle/power response from a simple crack in a small vacuum hose and will often times pull over to fix it to satisfy my obsessive-compulsivness regarding it. Every time I have noticed increased lag it has been due to a small leak here or there.
I have a Blitz adjustable BOV of some kind that a friend gave me (valued at ~$300), and I have it set so that if there is any sort of leak in the system you'll hear two blasts of air out of the piston as compared to one large discharge when it is perfectly sealed.
